Use a before-and-after check
Before the walk, note soreness, gait, energy, alertness, and any specific pain. Keep the first ten minutes easy. Afterward, ask whether movement is freer, the same, or worse. “Recovery walk” is not permission to ignore a negative response.
When rest has the stronger case
- Pain is sharp, localized, worsening, or changes gait.
- You are ill, dizzy, unusually short of breath, or have concerning symptoms.
- Training load has accumulated while sleep has repeatedly fallen short.
- The only way to fit the walk is to cut sleep again.
Rest is not one behavior
It can mean no planned exercise, ordinary daily movement, a shorter route, or switching from demanding terrain to level walking. The correct version depends on why recovery is needed.

Walk More! You can do it!
WalkTeaming is an Android walking league. On any day you reach 2,337 steps, that day can qualify as a score. Your best qualifying day of the week goes onto a five-walker team, and the app supplies both the team and a matched opponent.
You do not recruit teammates or share a schedule. Use the button to email the Google account on your Android phone. You will get a reply with the current access instructions.
Try WalkTeamingThe 2,337-step threshold is a game rule, not a medical or sleep target. Your email opens with the request already written.
